This was made in a local bar where I worked for a while. The owner asked me if I could do something with light without changing the atmosphere of the place being: dark. The wooden panel covers the full 7 meter length of the wall. It is attached in the middle leaving 4 centimeters of free space between wall and 'floating' panel. The slit in the middle is 8 cm. wide and has red plexiglass mounted behind it. The wooden panel was painted dark blue-grey from the front and bright ultramarine blue at the back. The blue hue that surrounds the panel is not colored light but a reflection of the strong blue pigment. The only light source used are 35 watt white tube lights. Best seen after dark.
